So back in elementary school I used to go to Peter Pan arcade in the shopping center every now and then. In case you don’t know - Peter Pan is the smallest arcade with nothing you really want to play but back in the day, it would’ve been cool to win an N64 or Playstation for about 200,000 tickets. Being in elementary school, you never really think how much money that actually comes out to, but I’ll just go on.
At the end of high school or around then, I actually went back for the first time in a while. Anyway, there’s a bowling “area” in the back of the arcade and until then, always had thought it was huge. Well it turns out its about 6 feet long, and i could pretty much knock the pins over the second I threw the ball. This makes it very easy to get strikes… very easy… Either way, every strike you get they flash an image on their cheap 20 dollar LED screen. I can’t remember any except the most notable and unique one. After you get 4 strikes, a car drives by theres some bad water animation and it says “car wash”. Ever since then and throughout college, I’ve always said 4 strikes in a row is a car wash. No one really believed me but took my word for it. People on TV tend to use 4-bagger, 5-bagger and so on and have been heard using “hambone”. Although hambone is good, it’s no car wash… and bagger is not very imaginative.
Anyway, George recently tried putting up car wash on urban dictionary and they immediately declined it. I don’t understand how they could reject that. This is the same site, that let allowed definitions for my friend Saugata’s name as:
A brown person of high intelligence with extensive skills but lack of logical reasoning.
and also something that makes as little sense as:
one posessing a foreskin, in the shape of a beautiful pony galloping in a field of dasies.
Now I don’t know how Urban dictionary actually approved these postings, which actually prove that the posters themselves probably had difficulty passing 1st grade. In light of this, I will post the “terms” which have been deemed from 1 strike to 12 strikes hit consecutively…
1 strike: Monorail
2 strikes: Wind Chimes
3 strikes: Turkey
4 strikes: Car Wash
5 strikes: Fighting Chicken
6 strikes: Salad bar
7 strikes: Tony Gwynn
8 strikes: Quabblepuff
9 strikes: Cow Bell
10 strikes: Lou Bega
11 strikes: Carrot Cannon
12 strikes: Red Panda
Now, Lou Bega might sound like a pretty lacking reward for 10 strikes, and it’s supposed to be. It makes you want to aspire to greater lengths for the elusive Red Panda title. If you think Red Panda is pretty lacking, you’ve never met one, they’re pretty awesome. Feel free to comment on your favorite…
