45 minutes is a long time…

Ok so when you go to LiveScience.com you don’t really expect anything funny to come out of it… except this time… for anyone sensitive… this may appear graphic…

Seal Tries Sex with Penguin … hot pics!!

… The seal then alternated between resting on the penguin and thrusting its pelvis at the bird in vain attempts to insert its penis for 45 minutes. Natural, unsuccessful sexual escapades by this variety of seal with members of its own species may last as long as this penguin assault did, “but yes, it is quite a long time and thus unusual,” de Bruyn told LiveScience..

UPDATED: Best places to find FREE streaming television

First off, if you can’t find your show at any of these sites, it’s gotta be somewhere else… just post your show and I’ll get back to you…

With the shutdown of Stage 6, it might be hard to find a lot of shows now, so I’m updating my list:

1) SideReel : Still the most comprehensive site with (depending on the show) HD links. Best place for LOST, Prison Break, Terminator, and almost everything else

2) SurfTheChannel (NEW) : I just found this site today… and it’s damn good. It blows TV-Links OUT of the water easily. It’s got every show I could think of watching minus Arrested (they only have part of season 1 up). You’re not gonna find HD videos here, but it loads quickly and the size is actually about average. You also won’t find too many broken links as they stream it from their own site.
3) Hulu : It’s got a lot of hi res stuff, load times are slower, there may be commercials - but it’s easy to use and convenient. It’s also the best place for FOX, NBC, Bravo, Sci-Fi since they aren’t on iTunes.

4) ABC, CW, FOX : Still a great resource for HIGH quality (near HD) vids. Only downside is there are sometimes commercials (ABC is usually pretty good about that though). Only has latest episodes though (except LOST)

The rest: Here are a bunch of sites, which if you can’t find your show at the ones up top… these would be your last resorts… NOTE: As a former IT kind of guy… I highly recommend skipping the install of the Zango software, don’t worry - you’ll still get to your videos…
TV-Links , Farfads , Project Free TV , QuickSilverScreen , BlogSpot (links to other shows is on the side), VeohTV

Smart Balance my ass

Ok, I’m all for having an excess amount of something so that you never run out. These somethings range from toilet paper to milk. One of these things however, is not butter. This is where my dad and I truly differ. He’s a big fan of Smart Balance butter… and here’s the cold hard proof… 3 containers which total at 48 oz (3 lbs), a 16 oz and an 8 oz container… totaling a hearty 10.5 lbs of BUTTER, I see no balance in that.
Smart Balance?

Um… Something just looks wrong…

The Three Bears

Show Status - Moonlight renewed, Chuck picked up

Now that the writer’s strike is officially over, there’s a lot of word as to what’s happening with a lot of shows (this is the best site for tv show updates, I recommend using Update Scanner add-on to Firefox with it). CBS and ABC are the only networks that have made anything official. ABC picked up 9 shows and CBS ordered new episodes for Spring 08 of their best shows. Moonlight (best new show by far), Big Bang Theory and a ton of detective dramas are in that group. Moonlight’s pick up is big, considering CBS only picked up their best shows so far, so to see it in that group is pretty good for the show’s future.

Before the strike, Chuck had a full season ordered for Fall 07 and Spring 08. After the strike FOX decided to pick it up for Fall 08 (maybe start in the summer) and halt episodes for the rest of this season. With that, my numbers aren’t bad now, of the 4 new shows I added, 3 got picked up (Moonlight, Chuck, Big Bang Theory) and only Journeyman got canceled (not completely official, but just about there).

Moonlight is really worth watching, it’s got good cliffhangers for each episode and great writing. Chuck is entertaining and funny with a good cast. Big Bang is the funniest show since Arrested Development (but no where close to as funny). Find episodes at sidereel if you’re interested.

Funniest Thing Ever… YouTube misleading searchers

First off, I want to apologize for about a minute or two from now, you’ll know it when it comes.

So most people usually go into YouTube through links, subscribe to channels, or just have something in mind to search for. Well I decided to go a different route… I searched YouTube for “funniest thing ever“. Now it turns out that some of the stuff is worth looking at, particularly the first 2 hits, but it’s really the 2nd hit that shines.

The guy Jeff in that video… is a virus. If he spreads, he could kill the human race because of lack of reproduction. I like the guy Husan, you know… he’s lonely but makes up stuff that he thinks would get him into the party.

After the 2nd hit is where things get crazy. Don’t watch the next one in its entirety. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQegc8uMEW8 should not be listed under “funniest thing ever”. It’s a french video with no subtitles posted by someone that used kakapeepee in their username. So either the person is under 10 years of age or my friend Rob, either way, they’re pretty sad. This video shouldn’t even come up in search results. There should be a button at the bottom that says… “We found additional results, but no one else wanted to watch them, we watched them ourselves, and it’s pretty bad and has been omitted”.

I think it’s very important that we fix the “funniest thing ever” on youtube. We need a stupid video of an ostrich skiing, or like 2 robots playing checkers against each other maybe even a tiger that can handle a sniper rifle

Watch Jericho Season 2 streaming

In case you missed the premiere last night (which was damn good): here’s a link for Episode 1
http://www.sidereel.com/Jericho/_watchlinkviewer/338

If that’s invalid just go to http://www.sidereel.com/Jericho , there should be a valid link there

Make sure you give Innertube a hit, since CBS might actually look at that. Jericho’s actually worth it. I’m not one of the crazy hardcore people that would ever mail in bags of nuts, I just think it’s a great show.

Watch Jericho streaming online in time for the Season 2 premiere

So with the writer’s strike (although it should be resolved very soon) and lack of good television, I decided to start watching Jericho. For anyone that doesn’t know, CBS canceled Jericho after Season 1 but ended up renewing it because fans sent over 9 tons of packaged nuts to CBS. The Season 2 premiere is this Tuesday at 9 and I wanted to catch up before the premiere. As I’ve said previously, watching anything on Innertube is an utter waste of time, so I had to hunt around for other places to watch it. I’ll get to the sites shortly, but I have to say that the first season of Jericho is one of the BEST seasons of television I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely up there with Season 4 of 24, 1 of Prison Break, all of Lost, and I’d say the only thing that has an edge on it is Season 2 of Alias…

Here are all the links you should need to watch Jericho (there may be one missing somewhere in there, as I faintly remember having to search dailymotion for an episode.

Episodes 1, 6, 10, 11 (High Quality, Available for Direct Download)… http://www.guba.com/all/search?query=jericho&set=5&x=0&y=0

Episodes 7, 8 (Good Quality, buffers quick, weird french site)… http://farfads.streaming.free.fr/streaming/product_info.php?cPath=49_53&products_id=171

Almost all episodes (Good Quality, Buffers quickly, No true Full Screen but close enough)… http://66stage.com/tv.php?pl=meg&url=NQP49ZEM - all of the links are on the right hand side and make sure to buffer the “Full Screen” version (there’s a link under each video)

http://www.greatstufftv.com/2007/05/jericho.html also has a lot of links, some are on myspace and yahoo and has the same links for guba.

That should be everything you need… it’s definitely worth your time to check it out. Even if you don’t make it by Tuesday, most sites like SideReel and GreatStuffTV actually have the premiere already up (it apparently got leaked).

Bowling, Car Washes and Urban Dictionary… the connections revealed

So back in elementary school I used to go to Peter Pan arcade in the shopping center every now and then. In case you don’t know - Peter Pan is the smallest arcade with nothing you really want to play but back in the day, it would’ve been cool to win an N64 or Playstation for about 200,000 tickets. Being in elementary school, you never really think how much money that actually comes out to, but I’ll just go on.

At the end of high school or around then, I actually went back for the first time in a while. Anyway, there’s a bowling “area” in the back of the arcade and until then, always had thought it was huge. Well it turns out its about 6 feet long, and i could pretty much knock the pins over the second I threw the ball. This makes it very easy to get strikes… very easy… Either way, every strike you get they flash an image on their cheap 20 dollar LED screen. I can’t remember any except the most notable and unique one. After you get 4 strikes, a car drives by theres some bad water animation and it says “car wash”. Ever since then and throughout college, I’ve always said 4 strikes in a row is a car wash. No one really believed me but took my word for it. People on TV tend to use 4-bagger, 5-bagger and so on and have been heard using “hambone”. Although hambone is good, it’s no car wash… and bagger is not very imaginative.
Anyway, George recently tried putting up car wash on urban dictionary and they immediately declined it. I don’t understand how they could reject that. This is the same site, that let allowed definitions for my friend Saugata’s name as:

A brown person of high intelligence with extensive skills but lack of logical reasoning.

and also something that makes as little sense as:

one posessing a foreskin, in the shape of a beautiful pony galloping in a field of dasies.

Now I don’t know how Urban dictionary actually approved these postings, which actually prove that the posters themselves probably had difficulty passing 1st grade. In light of this, I will post the “terms” which have been deemed from 1 strike to 12 strikes hit consecutively…

1 strike: Monorail

2 strikes: Wind Chimes

3 strikes: Turkey

4 strikes: Car Wash

5 strikes: Fighting Chicken

6 strikes: Salad bar

7 strikes: Tony Gwynn

8 strikes: Quabblepuff

9 strikes: Cow Bell

10 strikes: Lou Bega

11 strikes: Carrot Cannon

12 strikes: Red Panda

Now, Lou Bega might sound like a pretty lacking reward for 10 strikes, and it’s supposed to be. It makes you want to aspire to greater lengths for the elusive Red Panda title. If you think Red Panda is pretty lacking, you’ve never met one, they’re pretty awesome. Feel free to comment on your favorite…

Episode Hunter… Becoming the best application for TV

Episode Hunter is an application I wrote to handle everything I’ve ever wanted from television. It manages your television shows, so you know what’s new and when, and also find FREE streaming television on the internet and provides the link for it. Currently I’m only searching SideReel because that’s been the most comprehensive I’ve found. I’ll be adding more soon enough.

Basically, Episode Hunter just takes all of your shows and tells you when new episodes will be on. No matter how much you search, you won’t find any resource on the web which simply tells you, what shows are new TONIGHT. I don’t care about a rerun of House, I just want to know when it’ll be new. So you could continuously check TV.com to find when the next episode will show up, which gets pretty annoying. Episode Hunter constantly updates each show’s episodes so instead of bothering on the web, you can easily check every show you watch and find out the next episode.

The other feature, which gives Episode Hunter its name, is finding streaming video online. This is very much in the development stages. I could spend a lot of time checking each show and seeing if SideReel has episodes of it, but I figure the best thing to do is to let people tell me what Episode Hunter can’t find. Then I can use websites people suggest, or just one’s I already know, to make sure that show won’t come up empty.

It’s a simple application to use, and doesn’t even need an install, you just download it and run it. I wrote it myself so it’s spyware/adware free. The driving force of the program is whatever people want from it. So make sure to let me know of any features you want, shows which come up empty, websites you’d like to see added, and all the bugs. It’s definitely a work in progress (which is why it’s only version 0.9, I can’t handle the pressures of it being a 1.0)
